How to pack your bag?

By on August 23, 2016

I always have to laugh if I see girls walking around with 2 suitcases and way too much stuff. Let’s be honest, it’s annoying for everyone to bring things you don’t need on your trip. I actually became a master in packing my bags.

Here a list of the essentials:

Clothing
– 2 pairs of jeans
– 3 shorts / skirts
– 1 chilling pants
– 1 sweater
– 6 tops
– 3 t-shirts
– 2 dresses (1 fancy and 1 for the beach) – only if you’re a girl btw.
– 1 rain jacket
– 2 bikini’s
– Underwear (weights barely anything so don’t limit on this svp)
– 8 pairs of socks
– Hiking shoes
– Sneakers
– Flip flops

Material stuff
– Phone (can also be used as camera, flashlight, alarm etc.)
– World plug
– Note book
– Small lock (for lockers in hostels or to lock your bag)
– Powerbank / portable charger
– Travel documents
– Money, debit + credit card
– Deet
– First aid kit
– Pocket knife
– Towel
– Sarong
– Sunglasses
– Book (take 1 and exchange it with others during your trip).

Note: this list is made for mainstream backpackers and should be adjusted to each individual. Maybe you sweat a lot (then please bring more shirts) or are very cold (bring more sweaters). Also remind yourself that at most places they have laundry services as well, or (as I often do) you can do your laundry yourself.

Did I forget something? Please let me know in the comments!

P.s. I sometimes fail in sticking to this list as well; here’s a picture of my packed suitcase when I went back to Macau after spending Xmas at home.
