Prepare an Interrail trip - Paris

Top 5 city trips in Europe

By on August 30, 2016

The whole world is in love with Europe because each country has its own charm. At relatively short distances you find yourself in another world each time. With the low cost airlines and other cool ways to travel around such as blablacar it doesn’t even have to be expensive either. However, deciding on which city to go can be tough. Therefore I made a list of the best city trips in Europe:

The capital of Portugal is not expensive like many other capital cities in Europe. It is very easy to get around by foot or catch one of the lovely trams. Get yourself an espresso for only 70 cents and go out party street Bairro Alto. Or, if you have a little bit more to spend, go to club Silk and enjoy the view over the city. I stayed at Lisboa Central Hostel which is just a short walk from the inner center.

Berlin has a rich history, great nightlife and a very chilled atmosphere. If you like electronic music try to get into Berghain – I didn’t get in – or go to Salon Zur Wilden Renate. Make sure you go to the Berlin Wall and the Jewish Memorial – and please don’t only go there to make selfies but think about what happened as well 😉

Berlin Wall

My favourite town in Italy. Situated in the middle of Tuscany and obviously known for the tower of Pisa. Walk around this awesome town, with beautiful houses and a great atmosphere. There is a train station from which you can easily travel to the beaches or even to Rome.

Paris is always a good idea :). Everything they say about the city is true. The Eiffel Tower and Montmartre have something magical. I’ve been to Paris at least fifteen times (although I have to admit that most of the times it was just to go to Disneyland). The only downside of Paris is that it is an expensive city. Thus, just go to the supermarket, get a bottle of wine and a sandwich and enjoy it next to the Seine, under the Eiffel Tower or at Park Luxembourg.

Number 1 is obviously, Amsterdam. Not because I want more tourists to go to my hometown but simply because I’m in love with the city. Amsterdam has something to offer for everyone: world’s best museums (also the undiscovered ones), great nightlife and festivals, beautiful architecture and fun people. I have a thousand tips on this city and will write a blog about it soon!
